D. Kay  Kuehn

D. Kay Kuehn, age 73 of Stanton, died Monday June 20, 2106 surrounded by her family at her home in Stanton. She was born on November 10, 1942 at Sioux City, Iowa the daughter of Robert Edward and Wilma Georgia (Padgett) Easley. Kay attended Pilger High School in Pilger and graduated Point Loma Adult High School at Point Loma, CA;

On July 14, 1960 at West Point, Nebraska Kay married Richard Arthur Kuehn. The couple lived in San Diego, CA; Boston, MA; Newport, RI as Richard was attached to the United States Navy. After his discharge they lived in Apache Junction, Mesa and Tempe, Arizona for about 3 years until 1969 when the family return to Stanton. She was a housewife and homemaker. Kay attended Platte Community College in Columbus, NE where she obtained certification as Certified Nurse Assistant and Care Staff Member and was employed at the Stanton Health Center.

Kay enjoyed her hobbies which include camping, reading, crocheting, collecting knick knacks, sewing clothes for her family and she enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a life member of Stanton V.F.W. Post #3602 Auxiliary.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Richard Kuehn of Stanton; her 5 children Bob Kuehn of Stanton; DeAnn Hrbek of Stanton; Teresa and Michael Sukup of Norfolk; James Kuehn of Stanton; Mark Kuehn of Tecumseh, NE; 9 Grandchildren; 6 Great Grandchildren; 3 Siblings Marilyn Tuttle of West Point; Ron and Barb Easley of Papillion; Collette and Keith Cheyney of Norfolk; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, cousins and friends.

Preceding Kay in death are her parents, 3 Brothers William, Jim and Bob; 2 Sisters Judy Bramer and Connie Jo Jones.

Date: Friday June 24, 2016 – 10:30 A.M.
Interment: Stanton Cemetery – Stanton, NE
Military Rites: none
Visitation: 3-8 P.M. Thursday at Shultz-Vogel-Johnson Mortuary in Stanton.
Officiating: Reverend Timothy Booth
