Delbert George Noelle, age 71 of Stanton, died Thursday September 17, 2009 at his home in Stanton. He was born October 16, 1937 at Randolph, Nebraska the son of George and Vada (Perrin) Noelle. He was baptized at the United Methodist Church in Carroll. His first job was raking hay at age 7 with a tractor and 3 dump rakes on Bud Bartak ranch. He attended school in Carroll and Wheeler County, graduating from Stanton High School in 1955.

Delbert married Carol Butterfield on November 4, 1956 at the United Methodist Church in Stanton. Delbert worked on Emil Mastny's farm, near Stanton, for 19 years. He was employed by Stanton County for 24 years doing road maintenance. His hobby was camping, he worked as camp host at Ponca State Park for 7 years, upon his retirement in 1996. The couple spent 10 years full-time camping in Alamogordo, New Mexico where he was an active volunteer at the Senior Center. Delbert and Carol moved back to Stanton in September 2008.

Delbert is survived by his wife of 52 years Carol Noelle of Stanton; 2 Sons Dennis and Joan Noelle of Stanton; Andy and Christi Noelle of Norfolk; 3 Grandchildren Dustin Noelle of Stanton; Eric and Angela Noelle of Norfolk; Step-Grandson Jesse and Melany Smith of Norfolk; 2 Brothers DeWayne and Jan Noelle of Norfolk; Bob and Sharon Noelle of Norfolk; many nieces and nephews.

Delbert is preceded in death by his parents and a brother Larry.

Date/Time: Sunday September 20, 2009 from 1:00 to 4:00 P.M.
Shultz-Vogel-Johnson Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
