Thomas W. Barlow, EdD, President & Chief Executive Officer, Pacific Resources and Learning, Honolulu, HI passed away Monday, June 22 after a lengthy illness in Cleveland, OH.
Tom was born March 31, 1949 in Orchard, NE. He graduated from Ewing High School in 1967. He received his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Wayne State College, and EdD in Administration, Curriculum, and Instruction from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
He started at PREL in 1996 as Chief Operating Officer and was selected to lead the organization in 2003. From 1991 – 1995 he was Director of Curriculum and Instruction Field Services at Mid-Continent Research for Education and Learning, Aurora, CO, 1984 – 1991 Director of Staff Development, ESU #9, Hastings, NE and taught senior high English in Randolph from 1970 – 1984.
In remembrance of Tom and his love for PREL, the Pacific and for all children, all contributions in his name and honor can be sent to the Teacher Scholarship Fund at PREL, something that Tom founded and passionately treasured.
