R. Duane Scott, age 92 years of Sierra Vista, Arizona, went Home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, at 7pm on Thursday, April 30, 2009. He was born in Randolph Nebraska on January 11, 1917.
Duane ministered in several Baptist churches in Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota and Wyoming. Duane retired from the First Baptist Church in Buffalo Wyoming in the summer of 1969 because of the poor health of his wife Mildred. They moved to Chicago where she received the needed medical care. While in Chicago, he substituted in various pulpits. He would later to do same thing in San Diego, California.
Duane is survived by his 3 sons Michael of Idaho Falls Idaho; Allen of Lakewood, Colorado; Stephen is Glendale, Arizona; two daughters, Janet Scott and Margaret Firman of Sierra Vista, AZ; his 6 brothers, Leon of Lemars, IA; Eugene of Phoenix, AZ; Gerald of Storm Lake, IA; Lavern of Randolph Larry D. of Omaha; Ronnie of Elkhorn and 1 sister, Donna Beaudette of Holdrege, NE;
Duane is preceded in death by his parents, Osborn Henry and Thelma Scott, his brothers Dale, Lamont and Lowell, and his two wives Mildred Eleanor and Edna Grace.
