Eileen "Jackie" Neumann, age 81 of Stanton, died Wednesday April 1, 2009 at Stanton Health Center in Stanton. She was born July 26, 1927 at Stanton, Nebraska the daughter of Ewald R. and Clara E. (Schneider) Neumann. Jackie was baptized on October 23, 1927 and confirmed on May 23, 1943 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Stanton. She was a 1944 graduate of Stanton High School and Attended University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, NM.
She worked for several years in Albuquerque and returned to Nebraska in 1950, living in Omaha and worked for the Union Pacific Railroad Headquarters in Omaha and for R.D. Marcott and Associates Insurance Agency in Omaha as Office Manager until she retired.
Although her own health was beginning to fail she returned to Stanton and cared for her sister Marjorie (Neumann) Sweetland from Omaha for a number of years until she moved to Stanton in the 1990's and later both entered the Stanton Health Center Assisted Living and later the care center. "Jackie," as all her family and friends knew her, never married. A kinder and more generous person, as all her friends can attest, never lived.
Jackie's survivors include her brother Ewald "Dusty" and Ardy Neumann of South Fork, CO and a niece Sharon and Kenneth Moore, Sr. of Iowa City, IA and their son Kenneth Moore, Jr. of Queen Creek, Arizona.
Jackie was preceded in death by her parents and sister Marjorie Sweetland in 2002.
