Steve W. Stevenson, age 67 of Stanton, died Wednesday January 28, 2009 at his home in Stanton. He was born April 16, 1941 in Norfolk, Nebraska the son of Raymond and Frances (Werner) Stevenson. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Stanton and attended school at Stanton County District #2, St. John's Lutheran School in Stanton, Stanton High School and Norfolk High School.

Steve married Sherry Barr in 1959 and they lived in Denver, Colorado and later returned to Stanton to farm the family farmstead, where Steve fed cattle and farmed for over 40 years under the name of Stevenson Feedyards. In 1985 he married M.L. Anderson in Lincoln, Nebraska. A special person in Steve's life for a number of years was Mary Tunney. Steve was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Stanton, a member and past president of the Stanton County Feeders Association, member of Nebraska Cattleman's Association, member of National Cattleman's Association, member of Stanton County District #2 school board. Steve loved football, especially the Huskers, boxing, fast cars, riding horses, the outdoors, visiting Mexico, bloody rare steaks and spending time with his family and friends.

Steve is survived by his five children Steve and Dena Stevenson of Lincoln and their children Shelley and Brad Ball, Ryne and Darby Stevenson; Tracy Stevenson of Sioux City, IA and her son Cole Hoff; Machen Stevenson of Lincoln; Brandon and Diane Stevenson of Lincoln; Justin and Michelle Stenger of Columbus and their children Hannah, Caine and Andon Stenger; 1 Sister Rae and Charles Caskey of Stanton; nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents.
