Robert "Bob" B. Shocker, age 87 of Stanton, died Friday December 5, 2008 at Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk. He was born August 29, 1921 in Stanton, Nebraska the son of John and Clara (Penn) Shocker. Bob attended Stanton public schools in Stanton, after leaving school he worked as a farm hand for area farmers.

Bob entered the United States Army on October 30, 1942, with rank of Private first class he was a Medic with the Medical Detachment of the 132nd Infantry, serving in Northern Solomon Islands and Southern Philippines. He was discharged on October 25, 1945. After leaving the service Bob worked for Pete Christensen as Truck Driver and later Andrews Van Lines in Norfolk. He worked as a installer and repairman for Minnegasco Natural Gas Company in Norfolk for 27 years and later retired. His hobbies include sawing wood and picking up cans. He was a Life member of V.F.W. Post #3602 of Stanton.

Bob is survived by one sister Ruth Brabec of Stanton; nieces and nephews Marian and John Eusterwiemann of Howells, Ted and Janet Brabec of Howells, Lois and Bill Vyborny of Beemer and many other nieces and nephews.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; 2 Brothers Bill and John and 2 Sisters Clara Asch and Esther Petersen.
