Marguerite Marshall, 93, was born on Jan. 14, 1917 to Elsie Ringer and Hurbert A. Hollingsworth in Rock County near Bassett.

On June 6, 1937 she was united in marriage to Frank O. Marshall at the Methodist Church in Clearwater. They farmed near Clearwater until moving to Stanton county in 1948.
She served as a 4-H leader for several years and was a member of the Busy Homemakers Extension Club. She served as chairman of the Stanton Co. Extension Clubs in 1960-61 and represented Stanton County as Homemaker of the year in 1960-61.
She was also an active member of the GFWC Stanton Woman's Club where she held several offices, including: Secretary, corresponding secretary, treasurer and served as president of the organization for two terms.

At the time of her death, she was still involved in counting the mission money and was in charge of the weekend offerings at her church.

She spent many hours volunteering at the Stanton Elementary School and helping her aged friends. Her many friends depended on her to fix and style their hair and with many other duties that she loved. She will be remembered as wearing her high heeled shoes and her quick step and her fast pace.
