LeRoy O. Ober, age 63 of Stanton, died Saturday March 27, 2010 at Creighton University Hospital in Omaha. He was born September 8, 1946 at Oakdale, Nebraska the son of Dave and Nellie (Woods) Ober. He attended school in Bloomfield, Norfolk and Stanton and entered the United States Navy on December 20, 1963 he served on the U.S.S. Forrestal and earned his G.E.D. while he served, he was honorably discharged on September 7, 1967.
LeRoy married Jean Ann Lamp on 1973at the Madison County Courthouse in Madison. He worked at Kenning and Reel and later Murray's Plumbing and Heating for 8 years in Norfolk as a plumber. On July 18, 1987 LeRoy married Pat Cheyney at the Stanton County Courthouse in Stanton. LeRoy joined Nucor on the maintenance crew and later became Maintenance Supervisor, he worked at Nucor for 15 years, retiring in 2005. LeRoy was a member of Stanton V.F.W. Post #3602. His hobbies included woodworking, fishing, hunting, golfing and camping.
LeRoy is survived by his wife of 22 years, Pat Ober of Stanton; 1 Son Lee and Irena Ober of the Czech Republic; Mother Nellie Mae Ober of Stanton; 2 Step Daughters Tammy and Steven Walls of Omaha; Chris Cain of Fremont; 3 Step Grandchildren Kimberly Fenicle of Fremont; Mia Cain of Fremont; Matthew Kerns of Omaha; 1 Sister Barb and LeRoy Daniel of Stanton; 2 Brothers Jim and Juanita Ober of Tula, TX; Terry Ober of Walmsetter, WY; and many nieces and nephews
LeRoy is preceded in death by his father Dave Ober and 1 brother Allan Ober.

Interment: Stanton Cemetery – Stanton, NE Military Rites: Stanton V.F.W. Post #3602 and American Legion Post #88 Visitation: 3-8 P.M. Tuesday at Shultz-Vogel-Johnson Mortuary in Stanton.
