LaVern L. Nadrchal, Sr., age 64 of Stanton, died Friday March 5, 2010 at Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk. He was born September 6, 1945 at Schuyler, the son of Lambert and Marcelaine (Bohac) Nadrchal. The family lived in the Clarkson area where they farmed.
In 1963 LaVern married Janice Houdek and the couple had 4 children Michelle Tordoff, Karen Marxsen, Penny Peters and LaVern Nadrchal, Jr. with10 Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren. He owned and operated a gas station in Columbus, he drove truck and also farmed. On February 16, 1992 at the Presbyterian Church in Schuyler LaVern married Pamela Gerstenschlager Cummings and added to his family Pam's 2 children Kelli and Kevin Benger; and Frank "Butch" III and Sarah Cummings to his family along with Grandson Jamieson Allen Cummings.
Vern drove truck for Seward Motor Freight Feed Division when Pam and he were first married, then worked at Tractor Supply, Beef America and managed Stanton Feed and Grain for L.D.I.. Vern returned to trucking for Seward Motor Freight until an accident on February 24, 2010.
Vern will be remembered for his free loving and generous nature, always enjoying spending time with his family and friends. He loved to travel and see the country, crossword puzzles and western movies, an avid "International" man, Vern, had a huge collection of which he was very proud. His two labs Bear and Shelby were also very important part of his life. There were no words to express the loss that is felt by his family and friends.
