LaVonne "Bonnie" Kuester, age 77 of Stanton, died Thursday February 11, 2010 at Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk. She was born June 13, 1932 at C.J. Verges Hospital in Norfolk, the daughter of Arnold and Stella (Sellin) Froehlich. Bonnie lived in Hadar, attending St. Paul's Lutheran School, until the third grade. She moved to Norfolk and attended Norfolk Public school, graduating in 1951. Bonnie married LaVern Kuester on January 18, 1953 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Norfolk. The couple spent a short time living in Fairbanks, Alaska, they moved to a farm south of Pilger until November 2005 when they moved to Stanton. Bonnie worked as a cook at The Burger Shop in Stanton, following this she worked at the Wiping Cloth in Wisner. Her final career was that of a housewife. She volunteered her time at Faith Regional Health Services Hospital in Norfolk. She was also the President of Ladies Aid at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, south of Pilger. Aside from spending time with her family, Bonnie enjoyed cooking, baking and crocheting blankets.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, LaVern Kuester of Stanton; 3 children David Kuester and Lorraine Arnold of Littleton, CO; Kevin and Julie Kuester of Pilger; Karla and Allen Carson of Smithville, MO; 4 Grandchildren; 2 Step Grandchildren; 2 Great Grandchildren; 1 sister Maxine and Robert Wolverton of Storm Lake, IA.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Arnold and Stella Froehlich and her 2 brothers Merlin "Mert" and Warren "Bud."
